A bunch of fresh herbs from Serena
A bit of jummy oil (Shaz prefers grape seed oil, but olive oil will probably work too.)
Combine herbs and oil in food processor or blender. Puree until you have a smooth herbed oil. If you find that the leaves are clumping and sticky, add more oil while blending to thin out mixture.
3-4 young mortals
1 litre blood
a tablespoon oil (or two)
2 tablespoons raspberry vinegar (balsamic vinegar will work too)
a couple herb stems (leftovers from the making of the basil oil)
Eyeballs for garnish
Kill mortals. Reserve blood for stock. Remove eyeballs and chill for garnish.
Cut the potatoes and mortals in small pieces. Put a little of the potatos and diced mortal aside. (Like a deciliter or two.)
brown the potatoes lightly in oil in a pot, add the diced mortal and the herb stems and blood. Let it boil 8-10 minutes until the potatoes are soft. Put it all in a food processor (if your food processor is small, remove the stock and save while blending the rest). Blend until smooth. Pour back into the pot. Add salt and sugar after taste, and then add the vinegar. Bring to boil again.
Fry the potato and mortal pieces you put away in some oil, let it all get warm and add the eyeballs.
Pour the soup in a plate, put some of the potato, mortal and eyeball mix and carefully spoon out a 'snake' of herb oil in a circle along the rim of the plate.
WHAT? You don't want to try this recipie or you're fresh outta mortals??
